This heavy duty squad unit mounted on a raised roof Pierce Saber® chassis with seating for eight personnel was delivered to the Elsmere Fire District by Tyler Fire Equipment. The unit is powered by a 300-hp engine and has an 18-foot body. Additional features include roll up compartment doors, underbody storage compartment with slide out drawers, 22-inch bumper extension with center storage tray, two electric cord reels with 200 feet of 10/3 cord, night scan, 25-kilowatt generator, roof hatch compartments. Rear compartment contains one 120-inch deep slide out utility tray, one storage rack for 8-foot folding ladder, little giant ladder, 6-foot pike pole, and 8-foot pike pole.

Equipped for incident scene lighting, fire scene support, auto accident response, and special operations. The cab has been outfitted as a command post for emergency scene management.  It can be deployed a emergency incidents which require the use of high volume positive pressure ventilation, salvage operations, portable power for operations and life support. It also responds to low level hazardous materials incidents.

The squad has served with distinction since being placed into service on March 29, 1999.
