Elsmere Firefighters were dispatched to 357 Delaware Ave with
reports of flames showing on the second floor
at 3:40 AM on March 12, 2008. Chief Webb declared a signal 30
(working incident) which initiated a FAST response by the Slingerlands
Fire Department assisted by Town Wide FAST members. The fire was declaired
under control by 3:57 AM. The crews of first due Engine 31 did an
excellent job with their initial attack which limited additional damage
to the structure. The building contained multiple businesses on the first
floor with a single residential apartment on the second floor.
