Fund Drive

Each year the Elsmere Fire Company A, Inc. conducts a Fund Drive. This association of eighty volunteer firefighters are committed to protecting the lives and property of those who reside, do business, or own property in the community. We’re your neighbors.

We’re on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (and we don’t take leap days off, or weekends for that matter). No matter what the weather, we’ll be there when you need us. We’re just a phone call away. Just dial 9-1-1 in the event of fire or emergency and we will respond. Each year we responded to between 400 and 500 emergency calls accounting for over 9,000 volunteer man-hours. We also spend many hours conducting public education and community based activities.

In a typical year, we spend more than 4,700 man-hours in training. We drill weekly to maintain a high level of emergency response skills. We train in the use of industry standard firefighting tools, equipment, and apparatus, which we have at our disposal.

As with any organization, the Elsmere Fire Company A, Inc. incurs operating expenses each year. Most of these Company expenses cannot be paid for with Fire District funds. Use of Fire District funds is strictly regulated by law. Donations from the public that we serve are the only way the Fire Company can continue to meet its operating costs. Imagine the cost to local taxpayers if paid firefighters had to be hired to protect our families and property.

By now you know that you can count on us in your time of need. Can we count on you for your support? Please give generously to our annual Fund Drive to show your support for our volunteers who sacrifice so much, risking life and limb to protect you, your family, and your property.

The Elsmere Fire Company A, Inc. is a non-profit organization under IRS code*. Your donation may be tax deductible. Furthermore, only about eight cents of every dollar donated is spent on the administrative cost of conducting our Fund Drive.

We would like to thank all of the residents and businesses for supporting our fund raising campaigns in the past, and hope you will continue to do the same this year.

On or about the middle of August, you will receive a mailing soliciting your support for the Elsmere Fire Company. Please respond as soon as you are able, as a reminder mailing is sent around mid-October. The mailing you will receive will look similar to the document below. Also included will be information about your volunteer fire department. The Elsmere Fire Company A, Inc. never solicits via telephone.
