President Joseph M. Catalano
President Joseph M. Catalano is the 2012 recipient of the Kenneth E. McNary Achievement Award.
Joe joined the Elsmere Fire Company on July 26, 1990 and became an active firefighter on August 30th of that year. He left the active ranks on January 1, 1995 and returned to active duty on September 27, 2001. With fifteen years of active service, Joe served as the Company's Lay Chaplain in 1991 and 1992, 2001 and since 2006. In 1992 Joe was elected to a three year term as Director. In 2002, he was elected Vice-President. Subsequently Joe was elected Company President in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Most recently, Joe was again elected to lead the Company as President in December 2011. Joe resides in Elsmere and is retired from the NYS Higher Education Services Corporation. He is very involved in the community, and particularly with community youth and church. Proud to have members of Joe Catalano's caliber, the Elsmere Fire Co. A, Inc. is rightfully known as "The Pride of Bethlehem".
